LIFETIME WORKMANSHIP GUARANTEE
At Ballard Natural Gas, we take pride in the quality of every installation we perform. This Lifetime Workmanship Guarantee covers defects in workmanship directly and demonstrably attributable to our installation practices.
What We Cover
This guarantee covers failures that are directly and demonstrably attributable to our installation workmanship — meaning a failure that would not have occurred had the work been performed correctly.
Where a potential workmanship defect is identified outside of the 3-year labor warranty period, a diagnostic fee will apply to assess the failure. If the defect is confirmed to be the result of our installation workmanship, that fee will be waived and the corrective work performed at no charge. If the failure is determined to be caused by factors outside our workmanship, a repair estimate will be provided separately.
What We Do Not Cover
This guarantee applies only to defects caused by our workmanship. It does not cover:
- Manufacturer Defects — Equipment and component failures caused by manufacturer defects are covered separately under each manufacturer's warranty. We register all equipment at the time of installation on your behalf and are happy to assist with warranty claims should a manufacturer defect arise. Our Lifetime Workmanship Guarantee covers how we installed the equipment — the manufacturer's warranty covers what's inside it.
- Environmental Conditions and Acts of Nature — Refrigerant leaks, piping cracks, insulation deterioration, corrosion, or any other failure caused or accelerated by UV exposure, sunlight, heat cycling, freeze-thaw cycles, wind, hail, flooding, earthquakes, lightning, settling, structural movement, or any other condition outside our control
- Normal Wear and Tear — Cosmetic deterioration, aging, rust, corrosion, or degradation expected over the life of a system
- Third-Party Work — Damage resulting from alterations, repairs, modifications, or work performed by anyone other than Ballard Natural Gas
- Homeowner or Occupant Factors — Misuse, neglect, abuse, accidents, power surges, improper operation, or failure to maintain the system
- Maintenance Items — Filters, drain clogs caused by debris or biological growth, condensate pumps, thermostats, batteries, and other consumable or serviceable components
- Access and Restoration Costs — Expenses associated with gaining access to concealed, underground, or otherwise inaccessible components, including drywall, cabinetry, flooring, landscaping, excavation, or any restoration of those areas
- Building or Site Conditions — Failures caused by rodent or pest damage, water intrusion, inadequate ventilation, or pre-existing structural defects
Maintenance Requirement
This guarantee is conditioned on the system receiving annual maintenance in accordance with manufacturer recommendations. Documentation of annual maintenance must be provided upon request. Failure to maintain the system may void this guarantee.
Additional Terms
This guarantee is non-transferable and applies only for as long as the original purchaser owns the property where the work was performed.
This guarantee is limited solely to the repair or correction of defective workmanship. It does not extend to incidental, consequential, indirect, or secondary damages of any kind, including but not limited to property damage, loss of use, utility costs, food spoilage, or loss of income.
We stand behind our installs for life. If an issue ever comes up because of how the system was installed, we’ll fix it at no charge.*
